🌱 A Message from the Director — Spring 2026

A very warm welcome back to all our teachers, school leaders, SNAs, secretaries, and school communities following the February mid-term break. We hope you had a chance to rest, recharge and spend some quality time with family and friends. We also hope the weather has a little more to offer us as we move through the spring — fingers crossed for some brighter days ahead.

🌸 Professional Learning Opportunities

As we move into the second half of the spring term, we invite you to visit our website to explore our extensive and ever-growing range of Continuing Professional Development opportunities. At the Support Centre, we pride ourselves on truly listening to your feedback — teacher agency is central to our ethos and it is this that drives us to continually expand and enhance the professional learning we offer.

Our dedicated team works tirelessly to source and engage the most talented and experienced tutors, from our valued partnerships in West Chester University, Pennsylvania to our exceptional local tutors here in Cork. We are committed to ensuring that every CPD opportunity we provide is of the highest standard and is meaningful, relevant, and impactful for you and your school community.

We encourage you to browse our website and discover what is on offer — we are confident there is something to inspire every educator. (https://www.cesc.ie/cpd-courses.html).

🌸 Free School Tours at Cork Public Museum

We are delighted to share that Jessica Cull, Education Officer and Assistant Curator at Cork Public Museum in Fitzgerald Park, has extended a wonderful invitation to schools across our Cork catchment area. School groups and classes can now book free guided tours of the museum, offering students a rich and engaging opportunity to connect with Cork's remarkable history and heritage.

Tours are suitable for all class levels, from primary right through to Leaving Certificate, and can be tailored to meet the needs of your group. During their visit, students will have the opportunity to explore Viking and medieval collections, discover Cork's Revolutionary period, and gain a fascinating insight into the behind-the-scenes work of the museum — from the care of artefacts to the creation and preservation of exhibitions for future generations.

To enquire or book your slot, simply email jessica_cull@corkcity.ie or museum@corkcity.ie.

With best wishes,

Edmond Hussey

Proudly supporting teachers, SNAs, school leaders and school communities across our Cork region
